This is what happens on a fixed income!

This new 19" flat screen TV has replaced our 42" one which filled up the entire top of the entertainment center. Looks stupid?? We are hoping it will look better in the 250 square foot RV. Andy's mom, Verna, is taking care of our old one and was very excited! Andy and I on the other hand need binoculars to watch t.v. :)

Finally...a picture of the RV

Andy and I "closed" on the Rv tonight.

It was really painless after buying the truck last night. General RV Center will store it for us until we are ready to leave. Neal refuses to let us park it in his drive, and in 19 days we will no longer have a drive of our own. I love my kitchen. The rest of the pictures of the "house" didn't turn out. It was rainy and very dreary so the lighting was poor. But there will be others uploaded when we actually move in! When we go and take occupancy the RV center will give us an inservice or demo of how to work everything. Sort of like a Dummys Guide. This is way different then the pop up camper, I am thinking this is easier.
This last 30 days has been a whirl wind. We sold a house, bought a RV, sold a car, bought a truck, sub leased a car, sold un-needed furniture, quit our jobs! We will be living the dream.

OUR NEW "RIDE"

Check out our new "ride". This is one bad ass truck. I need a booster seat to see over the steering wheel. I had the seat pulled all the way to the front and still couldn't see over the hood to the end of the truck. That will make it hard to park! It has so much pick up power, I burnt rubber when I took off.
Can you see Andy's little head in the window? He even looks like a midget. But there is no doubt that this truck will be able to pull our new RV especially with that HEMI engine! And because the bed has a great liner and cover over it, I can put ALL my shoes in a storage container and put them in there. That will leave more room in my tiny little RV closet.
Tomorrow we are "closing" on the RV and I will upload those pix for all to see. Now this is getting exciting. Things are happening fast and falling into place. Of course, we are a little over budget. Our newest purchase was more then anticipated. We will have to cut some where else. Andy's thinking we can cut some cost by spending a few nights in the Walmart parking lots! We read that it is open to RV's just for the night who are passing through. I know my kids are embarrassed now for sure....

OUR NEW HOME!!!

Andy and I bought our new RV. It is a 26 foot Fleetwood travel trailer. After looking at possibly 50 different ones, this was our favorite although it had been sold. Lucky for us, they couldn't get a loan and the deal fell through! We got a call Saturday from our salesman and after wheeling and dealing a good price, we now own it. Yeah! I was beginning to worry we wouldn't have a place to live. The closing date on the house is June 29, just 3 weeks away.
Also, the next day, Andy sold his car on craigslist. Things are falling into place. This week we need to buy a truck, that half ton pick-up with the v8, 5.5, 3 valve engine! Or Andy won't be able to get to work his last few weeks before retirement. Now the next big item will be my car. I need to find someone to assume my lease. I have 2 interested parties, only waiting for the paperwork from GMAC and then their approval.
This is meant to be.....

Finding a new "home"

We are planning on buying a travel trailer, approximately 24-26 feet long. Which also means a new truck to pull that trailer. So Andy and I went out "shopping". He found a Dodge Ram truck. BIG. HUGE. MASSIVE. I stood at the front and the hood came up to my chin....which means I could not been seen. I also need a step ladder to get into the cab. Once I am in it, I look like a midget except everyone will see me because it is fire engine RED! To say the least, we are still looking. So much to decide: do we need a 4.7 or 5.5 and then should we get a 4x2 or 4x4???? Numbers to me, although they do mean something to Andy.

The travel trailer should be easier to buy. We are buying used. Hopefully very clean with no dead mice living in the storage areas. We need one with a microwave and stove. Andy will continue to bake cookies for our travels. And an outside shower. Andy thinks that is what he is suppose to use since the inside one is sooooo small. But it is used to wash the sand off after a day at the beach. Kailey will love it! When we finally buy, I'll get some photos up to view our new pad.
