Seward, Alaska

Seward is the "Gateway to Kenai Fjords Natational Park", just south of Anchorage. It is a tiny village with scenic seaside charm. It is an ice free harbor and where the start of the Alaska railroad began. It is a huge fishing area for both salmon and halibut. You can charter a boat and be out all day. We arrived just as the boats came back in. They fillet the fish right on the pier. I got some great photos. Andy met a young marine biologist who was dissecting and studying a cod. The study was to see how the fish is surviving in the ocean. Obviously, the fish isn't surviving since he is being dissected and hit with a hammer! Cute pix though.
We also hiked a two mile trail to Exit Glacier. It is one of the most accessible glaciers in the area.
Speaking of photos, I just made 12 CD's with 200 photos on each.....you do the math. I am over 2000 photos and still shooting. I wish you could see them all. It takes sooooo long to upload photos.
Andy's planning tomorrows outing right now. I am sure it involves driving!
