Arches Nat'l Park

Arches National Park has the largest number of natural stone arches in the country, more than 2,000 along with many red rock canyons, spires, fins and balancing rocks. These formations were created 150 million years ago. The arches took shape by water and ice, extreme temperatures, and underground salt movement. Today, new arches are being formed and old ones destroyed. Andy and I took several short hikes, 1-2 miles in length with moderate trails and some elevation. There was still more to see and do, but we were real tired so planning on coming back again tomorrow! We are planning some longer hikes and starting earlier in the day. The weather was great today (FINALLY!!) with blue skies and 60 degree temperatures. Tomorrow, even better. Southern Utah and northern Arizona is so beautiful and offers such unusually landscape; awe-inspiring views! We are really enjoying our stay here.
