Great afternoon spending time with old friends!!
We met Steve and Susie Leslie at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix. They moved out here from Michigan almost a year ago. Susie and I had worked together at Beaumont Hospital for a number of years. It was good getting reconnected and catching up on their lives. But also, great seeing an old familiar face! It was good for both of us. Susie is missing Michigan and friends as much as I am. It really is hard to move away!
This garden is devoted exclusively to arid land plants of the world. It has the most diverse collections of succulent plants, including cacti and aloes. There is also a large area of wildflowers, just beginning to bloom. We then ate a good lunch at the gardens cafe before departing again, to our very different lives.
